Anna-Kaisa Auvinen appointed as Executive Director of Global Compact Network Finland

Anna-Kaisa Auvinen has been appointed as the new Executive Director of Global Compact Network Finland.

Auvinen will be responsible for overseeing the operations and ongoing development of the Finnish Local Network of the UN Global Compact, as well as managing stakeholder relations and international cooperation related to the UN corporate sustainability initiative in Finland. 

According to the Chairman of the Board of Global Compact Network Finland Sami Lundgren, Auvinen was selected to the role because of her substantial experience from working with the business community, in-depth understanding and expertise in corporate sustainability and strong leadership skills. Auvinen has previously worked as the managing director of the Finnish Textile and Fashion Association and Finnish Environmental Industries, and as a corporate responsibility expert at the Confederation of Finnish Industries, among others. She has extensive networks both in the Finnish business community and non-business organizations. 

“I am grateful to be trusted with this role and be able to promote corporate responsibility and sustainable development, rooted in the principles of the UN, on a large national scale. I believe that this international network will benefit from my expertise”, Auvinen says. 

Global Compact Network Finland selected a new Executive Director as the predecessor Lenita Toivakka will take on new roles as Director of International Affairs at the Finland Chamber of Commerce and Secretary General, Chief Executive of ICC Finland.
