The Nordic Nature Working Group brings together Nordic companies which are leading the transition to a nature-positive economy.
The Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework (GBF) marked a turning point for corporate nature action. Since its adoption in 2022, nature has become an increasingly strategic business issue, with growing expectations on companies to assess impacts and dependencies, strengthen action and align with emerging frameworks and regulation.
Targeting companies at the forefront of nature action, the working group offers a trusted space for candid exchange, practical peer learning and deeper discussion on how to move from ambition to implementation across sectors and complex value chains. Through peer learning sessions with other advanced companies, participants can strengthen their own work, benchmark approaches and explore how to lead together in the transition to a nature-positive economy.
Why join?
A trusted peer community: A safe space for open exchange with other companies working seriously on nature issues.
Practical insight: Learn from peers and experts about what is working in practice, not just in theory.
A chance to benchmark approaches: Compare priorities, methods and challenges with companies at a similar maturity level.
Nordic relevance: Explore how companies in the region are working with nature-related strategies, targets, disclosures and implementation.
Stronger leadership capacity: Build readiness for rising expectations from stakeholders, frameworks and regulation.
The Nordic Nature Working Group is invitation-only, and with participants selected through direct outreach by the Nordic UN Global Compact Networks.
Please contact Heli Sihvonen, Programme Manager, Climate & Nature at UNGC Finland, if you have any questions, or if you would like to request an invitation.
It is an exclusive, invitation-only peer learning group for Nordic companies that are already advanced in their nature work and would like a more in-depth forum for exchange with peers.
The group is designed as a small, high-trust forum for companies with a high maturity level on nature. Due to limited space and for recruitment efficiency, the UN Global Compact networks will assess and shortlist eligible companies and reach out directly.
The group is exclusively for UN Global Compact participant companies in Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden. Participating companies are encouraged to nominate the person best placed to contribute to the discussions, such as a nature specialist.
The working group is created for advanced companies that demonstrate ambitious and credible work on nature issues. This could include companies with a nature strategy, science-based targets for nature or other concrete progress.
Companies are invited directly by one of the Nordic UN Global Compact Networks. For questions, please contact Heli Sihvonen, Programme Manager, Climate & Nature at UNGC Finland: heli.sihvonen@globalcompact.fi.
