UN Global Compact Networks of the UK and US are organizing a webinar series on child labour in supply chains.
In mines and quarries worldwide, it is estimated that over one million children are engaged in child labour. Mining and quarrying is considered hazardous work and therefore one of the worst forms of child labour. The raw materials being sourced enter the supply chain of a range of other industries: metals are used in technology, sand and gravel are used in construction, and minerals are used in cosmetics & automotive.
This webinar will explore the challenges and examine practical actions business can take to address child labour within these sectors. The event is the final installment of a five-part webinar series, and is open and free of charge for all.
This webinar takes place on Zoom on Wednesday 17th of November at 5:45–7 pm Finnish time.
Join this session to receive the latest updates about the Communication on Progress and pose your questions to the Global Compact Office.
This series of three webinars will take you through innovative approaches to conducting risk assessments and gaining actionable insights that can then be addressed through collaborative, data-driven approaches with measurable results.
