UN Global Compact Local Networks of the UK and US are organizing a webinar series on child labour in supply chains.
The discovery of child labour in a company’s supply chain can have devastating impacts on a brand and the risk of this happening is real. More than 152 million children worldwide are engaged in child labour today, and child labour is endemic in many sourcing countries.
This webinar will introduce the issue of child labour in global supply chains and provide suggestions for practical solutions by highlighting key stakeholders’ actions. The event is the first installment of a five-part webinar series, and is open and free of charge for all.
This webinar takes place on Zoom on Wednesday 9th of June at 5:45–7 pm Finnish time.
The UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights (UNGPs) celebrate their 15th anniversary this year. The UN Human Rights Council endorsed the UNGPs unanimously, marking the first time that, at an international forum, the duties of States, the responsibilities of companies, and access to remedies were agreed upon.
This interactive session will deepen key learnings from the course. Participants will explore the living wage guidance in more detail and hear first-hand examples and expert insights on practical implementation.
